About Jonathan

Jonathan Brown was a remarkable young man whose resilience and strength were evident in every aspect of his life. In July 2019, Jonathan was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma. Despite facing this challenging cancer diagnosis the summer before his grade 12 year, he demonstrated unwavering perseverance and determination, enduring his challenging treatments, surgeries, and hospital stays while managing his studies. Jonathan not only excelled academically but also earned honours, a testament to his hard work and dedication. His exceptional achievements led to his acceptance into the prestigious Honours Math program at the University of Waterloo.
Beyond his academic pursuits, Jonathan found joy and solace in his passions. Whether on the ice playing hockey, enjoying the camaraderie of ultimate frisbee, or exploring the endless possibilities of Minecraft, he embraced life with enthusiasm and zest. His gentle and patient demeanour endeared him to all who knew him, while his quick wit and sense of humour brought laughter and light to even the most challenging moments.
Despite the immense challenges he faced, Jonathan never allowed anger or frustration to consume him. Instead, he faced his diagnosis with grace and courage, inspiring others with his resilience and optimism. His passing on October 15, 2021, left a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his legacy of perseverance and kindness will forever endure, serving as a beacon of hope and inspiration to us all.
